Rams Driving Academy has run in Adelaide since 2007, and it has always been one instructor, one car, and lessons taught at whatever pace the person in the passenger seat needs.
I have taught Adelaide drivers since 2007, and I have been teaching people to drive for over twenty years. In that time the roads have changed, the rules have changed, and the test has changed. What has not changed is that every learner is different, so every lesson is too.
We go at your pace, in a calm car, with no judgement and no rush. Whether you are starting on your Ls, bringing an overseas licence across, or just getting your confidence back after a long time away, you are in good hands.
Lessons are taught in English, Tamil and Hindi. That matters more than it sounds. Being able to ask a question in the language you think in is the difference between nodding along and actually understanding, and under test pressure that difference gets larger, not smaller.
How I teach.
Four things come up again and again in what students write afterwards. They are a fair description of the method.
Small details, repeated
The habits that pass a test are built out of small corrections made enough times to stop being corrections. When something goes wrong we go back and do it again rather than talking about it.
Written down, not just said
Every student gets printed step sheets for the harder manoeuvres, so you can revise between lessons instead of trying to recall what was said in the car. They are published here as the manoeuvre guides.
Honest about where you are
If you are not ready, I will say so. Nobody benefits from being sent to a test they are going to fail, least of all the person paying for it.
