Anzac Highway and Marion Road carry heavy traffic for most of the day, and the intersection of the two is a good honest test of lane choice: you need to be in the right lane well before you get there, not while you are in it.
The Glenelg tram runs from the city down to the sea, crossing traffic at grade the whole way. Tram crossings have their own signals and their own etiquette, and learners consistently underestimate how long a tram takes to stop.
This is also the part of Adelaide with the highest concentration of roundabouts, which suits practice: signalling left on exit every single time is the habit examiners look for, and repetition is the only way it becomes automatic. Mitcham and Unley add gradient on the way toward the foothills.
Glenelg is the one place in Adelaide where a learner will regularly deal with a tram, pedestrians and parking pressure all at once. The tram runs down Jetty Road into Moseley Square, crossing traffic the whole way, and it does not stop quickly.
