Modbury is where the northern suburbs start to tilt. The ground rises toward Tea Tree Gully and the foothills, so this is a natural place to practise hill starts and parking on a gradient without driving all the way into the hills.
North East Road is the main artery and it is a demanding one: multiple lanes, sustained traffic, and right turns that need a genuine gap. The O-Bahn interchange at Tea Tree Plaza adds buses joining and leaving in ways that are unique to Adelaide.
The Tea Tree Plaza car parks are large, multi level in places, and busy at weekends. Learning to move through one calmly, watching for reversing cars and pedestrians, is worth more on test day than another lap of a quiet street.
