Turning Left and Right
At intersections and side streets
Every turn follows the same system: mirror, signal, position, look, then turn.
Left turn
- Mirror, then signal left in good time
- Keep left and slow to a safe turning speed
- Look both ways and give way as needed
- Turn into the left lane, keeping close to your side
Right turn
- Mirror, then signal right in good time
- Move toward the centre line and slow down
- Look both ways and choose a safe gap
- Turn into the correct lane without cutting the corner

Learn this one in the car.
Reading it helps. Doing it with someone watching, in a car with a second brake, is what makes it stick.
